LO2: Extra Filming
From looking at the rushes, we do not have to re-film any scenes. However, we need to add in a scene of the main actor and his ex girlfriend in the park. This will represent the flashback scene. We are currently planning to film this on Saturday 27th February 2016. In addition to this, we need to film the band performing at Corp. Hopefully we will be able to do this tomorrow. Saturday 20th February 2016.
LO2: Location Recce (for the contingency footage)
Before filming our contingency footage, we had to scout for locations for filming. We walked up West Street in Sheffield and found lots of ideal locations and spots for filming.
LO2: Narrative
The footage that we will be able to use:
- The band performing
- The main actor walking past the grafitti on his own
- A few of the house scenes
Ideas for the new narrative:
- Start off with a flashback scene of the main actor and his girlfriend. With a white/dreamy gradient overlay, a soft focus, a suspenseful instrumental and fast jump cuts to overlap the scenes.
- The main actor then wakes up from his "dream". We will show this by having an extreme close up of his eyes opening and the actor inhaling a big breath and breathing it out.
- The next scene will then be the actor getting out of bed. We will show this from a high angle. At this scene also the song will start playing.
- The actor will look in the mirror, look shocked at how bad he looks after sleeping (messy hair etc).
- He will sniff himself to see if he smells (and subsequently spray lots of deoderant).
- He will then get dressed, we will show this in quick succession to jump cut to the music before the trumpets start playing.
- As soon as the trumpet starts playing in the song, he will go out of his bedroom and pick up the things that he needs from around the house as he prepares to go out (phone, wallet etc).
- Just before the singing starts and the trumpets end, the actor will shut the door as he walks out of the house.
- It will then cut to him walking down a street at night (West Street), like he's looking for a place to go and drink.
- The actor will then walk into a bar/pub and text this person he's supposed to be meeting to see if they are near.
- While he is waiting for a reply he orders a pint from the bar.
- A text will then come through from the girl saying that she won't be coming tonight.
- We will show a close up of the disappointment that the actor is experiencing from this.
- He will then order another drink from the bar to "drown his sorrows".
- We will then show the actor drinking the drink but have multiple clips of the same shot overlayed on top of each other, each with a different opacity to give the effect that he is becoming drunk. We could show this in slow motion and with tilited camera angles.
- The glass of the drink will then be put down on the table (we will show this in a close up), but the same shot will be overlayed over the original clip at different angles one at a time, to show the drink appearing, then disappearing in a diagonal shape, giving the effect that the actor is now drunk and is seeing things.
- We will then zoom out of the close up shot of glass but have it done in a stuttery way. To create this effect we will take pictures in stages of moving away from the glass and slowly revealing the actor. We will have the actor remaining still at all times during this so it will look like time is at a standstill. I have pastiched this from the TV show, The Cube.
- The actor will then get up from the stool/seat that he is sitting on and start to 'walk' out from the bar. We will show this from behind.
- As he is coming out of the door we will switch the angle to show the actor from the front when he is leaving.
- We will then show the actor walking off down the street he came onto out of the bar.
- He will envision the girl from the flashback scene - as if she's in the same location as him.
- The actor will then run towards 'his girlfriend', only to discover that it isn't actually her.
- The person that it actually is will look at him strangely and walk away.
We will have cut aways to the band performing the song during the video. We will match up the song to them performing the song.

LO2: Location Release Form
These are the location release forms for the two locations that we filmed either inside of or outside. We filmed the actor walking up the stairs into the Rutland Arms and filmed the band inside Corporation. We had to gain permission to film in these locations.
LO2: Storyboards
For our storyboards, I will be drawing scenes 1-16 and 39-44. Kayna will be drawing shots 17-31 and 33-38. We will both do the descriptions under the shots we draw.
